Negotiation Team Tactics (24 Hours)

Procedures for the integration of negotiation team operations with other tactical units deployed to resolve critical incidents involving barricaded suspects, hostage taking, irrational behavior and other high-risk situations. Sets forth operational protocol for mutual interoperability of the negotiation team, SWAT team, sniper teams and other officers on scene to include collecting, processing and dissemination of crime scene information.

Negotiation Team Information Processing (8 Hours)

Procedures for collecting, documenting and evaluation information received through direct dialog, passive overhear and fiber optic capabilities available through negotiation communication equipment. Includes use of special information processing forms to document suspect actions and behavior for evaluation by command staff and negotiation team leader.
